A WORD FROM SETH:::

Seth is thinking about plumbing, loving the North and he reminded us how valuable the back porch of Buf's house was for safety meetings. We were very safe.

ENGINEERING:::

We went over the new plan and the modifications from our last engineering meeting. See the website for car drawings and new diagrams if you haven't already. There will be three carousels and they will power a lightweight central structure that will turn. This will complete the artistic metaphor for numinosity > human interpretation > ritual > and the transference of that ritual energy into something unnamed. We discussed mirrors on the central structure or possibly an eye with a pyramid steel wire cage that slowly fills with propane then ignites.

The next Engineering meeting will be Tuesday, March 4th, 5:00 at the Toronado on Lower Haight.

Kevin and John discussed their trip to Ace Auto Dismantlers in Bayshore. We are going to use 1 ton axles as the pivot point.

The following people will donate bikes so once we get the axles, we can start working on the first carousel.

Barb: 1
Shekky: 2
Fir: 1
John: 1

The structure diagram for submission with the grant will be finalized by next weekend. This will be the number one priority of our Engineering meeting.

We would like to have the first carousel built by Mid April.

It was also discussed that we may have a mister on one of the carousels so we'd have all the elements covered. Getting water out to the playa is what we need to figure out for that.

We will also have storage issues until the Bird's Nest garage is cleared out. Jen has space on her land. We will have to also figure out a place to keep it after Burningman since it will have a life after the playa.

GRANT:::

We will have the grant ready to send no later than March 24th.

Josh went over his fantastic draft of the Grant Proposal. We'll put this up on the website. It was also mailed to you.

ACTION ITEM: We would like everyone to send up their "specialty" so we can put that on the grant. You can put something like, attended since whenever and any special skills you might have like welding, carpentry, etc. This will add further legitimacy to our request. Please send those in the next couple days.

John and Jenny provided their new draft verbiage. That is also on the website.

Buf provided a spreadsheet and we changed some of the dollar amounts. The Grant request right now stands at 5552.00. We need to incorporate radio controlled devices and mechanics into the total.

It was suggested that we all sign the Grant Proposal.

Buf included the cost of the truck rental in the Grant proposal. Buf will add some days to it since we are planning on going up Friday August 22nd and we'll need it the day before for loading.

We may also need to add some 12V deep cells to the grant.

We decided that having waste cans at the project was probably a bad idea since it would invite yahoos to dump their trash.

EVENTS:::

It is possible, if we get that grant, that we will not have to charge to camp with Camp Numinous. The extra money we need other than for the project may come from our events.

Jen discussed the float trip. She will send out more details, but we may possibly make $600 from that event. She will need 4-5 Camp Numinous members to help her with organization and food among other things. The cost will be 30$ and the other people on the trip will pay $50. CN will get the difference for our fund raiser.

Jen also discussed the Tacky Prom Party. She will send out more details for that. If we rent the Peacock Lounge, that rent is $200. This event will probably be in June.

John and Jenny discussed the Easter Puppet show and it is still undecided whether to have it at the Bird's Nest or at Build Space. The rent ofr build space is $40. This event will be in April around Easter.

Jen, Jenny, Julia and Dom are working on the Event Committee.

Buf suggestion that we start using the Yahoo Calendar on Yahoo Groups to schedule meetings and Events.

BAR ::::

John and Marc are working on plans for the bar. A church design with a platform was discussed as was a circular design. We also considered how nice it was to have a wall to protect us from the dust storms.

JOBS ::::

were discussed. The following people will be added to the JOBS list.

Shekky: hunter gatherer. Load and breakdown. Engineering. Kitchen.
Fir: Load and BreakDown
Kevin: Load
Dom: Events, Kitchen.
Julia: Events. Load, setup and Breakdown.

NEXT THINGS ::::

John and Jenny will be gone in March as will Kevin and Jen. We may not have our next meeting at the beginning of April. We have formed groups now that can interact outside of the meetings. I'll post time suggestions for the next meeting.

After the meeting we drank and ate and watched the fog roll over the hills behind Buf's house. It was a great meeting and we're moving forward. Thanks everyone for coming.

This year promises to be a GREAT year for CAMP NUMINOUS.

-John
