Here is close to the final plan that we came up with last Tuesday. Gears will be implemented into this, and the guy wires may be removed.

Kevin has pictures of the cars, and gears on the cars may also contribute circular motion to power more mechanical events. There will be four cars at the end of spokes. The spokes will also have wood between them in the middle and on the outer edges to make the structure stronger.

There may be a floor built that will move along with the netire structure. This carousel will probably have a diameter of about 10 feet. We'll build this prototype and then either build 2 more or build a larger one. There will be lights and fire and we need to figure out the sound events.

The wheel is what allows the carousel to turn. Kickers welded onto the axel will keep the carousel from moving in any direction around the plya other than in a circle and a plate that goes a top the playa will keep the center section from sinking into the playa.

Panels will be integrated into the center core for art to be put onto. Also a canopy top will be put on the very top.
